Going on a Reynaulds trip is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Everything is organised for you. From visits to Dortmund Exhibition, one of the worlds largest exhibitions (in Germany Dortmund InterModelbau spread over seven large halls which includes all aspects of modelling - model railway, military, aircraft, boats, a very large radio control vehicle areas and fairground model making). This requires at least a couple of days to get around and you will probably not see everything. Besides the exhibition, the remainder of the trip is quite varied from visits to Marklin factory where one is privileged to go behind the scenes and view all aspects of producing a Marklin/Trix model, visiting a Historic Railway Company and having a historic ride. Finally while in Hamburg, a visit to Miniature Wunderland, the worlds largest model Train Show. Over the years I have visited it several times and every time one has to just marvel at the development of various techniques and modelling skills displayed by the team of very skilled modellers who are now taking model railroading to a new level which now includes Greece and Rome exhibits plus an active Volcano and a Formula one Grand Prix.
Dortmund is incredible!
The trip through Germany seeing Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg and the magnificent hobby show (not just trains!) in Dortmund is incredible. The additional highlights and excellent hotels are navigated very well by Rey and Roman. It is a fascinating trip for all who enjoy railroading
Dortmund is incredible!
I want you to know how much I enjoy the Reynaulds Tours. First off, it is just plain fun traveling in Germany with fellow enthusiasts of European model rail, and traveling by train, to boot!
Whether we go to the Nürnberg Spielwären Messe or the Dortmund Modellbau, there is so much to learn, get advance views of new releases, and ideas Always ideas!.
The various 1:1 train related activities are great. I particularly enjoyed the Fichtelbergbahn, even if we did get thrown out of the Brewery Restaurant (temporarily. Remember, wait to be seated.).
Accommodations are always first rate. In 2018 in Hamburg the hotel was so new that we were there two days before they had their grand opening party, with gratis food and drink as well as a good band. I had fun dancing with the Hausfrau sitting behind me tapping her feet. Of course I asked her Herr's permission first!
And the variety of beer to be savored! I have now seen Miniatur Wunderland 4 times. First time with my wife in 2012, and 3 times with Reynaulds: 2015, 2018 and 2025. There is always something new and inspirational. I am eager to go again, hopefully with my brother!
Thanks again, my friends!
The food was spectacular throughout the trip
I was on last September’s trip to Göppingen for Marklin days. It was a great experience seeing the Marklin Factory and all the older railroad equipment (steam engines, passengers’ wagons, and other equipment). We stayed in Esslingen on the Neckar, a very beautiful town with medieval buildings and the food was spectacular throughout the trip. Other side trips included Heilberg riding the Funicular Railway to the top and the Porsche Museum Headquarters in Stuttgart Germany.
A very memorable trip as were all the trips I’ve taken with Rey and Roman.
Would do it again in a heartbeat
The tour last year was absolutely amazing. The tour organization was great and the accommodation was carefully chosen. We stayed in places that were convenient regarding access to the venues, they were clean with breakfast provided, and the service was impeccable! Miniatur Wunderland, Intermodellbau and the rail tour near Luneburg were highlights of the trip. Going around Hamburg on the bus tour and the port tour were also great. The one disappointment was that we did not get the behind the scenes tour of Miniatur Wunderland. I have shared the experience with members of my local model RR club and they were really appreciative. I would recommend anyone interested to do if you offer it again. I was unable to participate this year owing to limitation in both time and budget but would do it again in a heartbeat.
It was like traveling with locals
Wonderful experience. It was like traveling with locals. Dinned in great non tourist spots. Excellent guides. Did not have to worry about transportation or how to get to places. Spent time with the group and also had opportunities to explore by ourselves. Highly recommended!
Intermodellbau 2026 trip was a fantastic experience
The Reynaulds Intermodellbau 2026 trip was a fantastic experience and I'd highly recommend it. Intermodellbau is a huge convention which spans several buildings and they are jam packed with trains, planes, boats and automotive models. This show is like none other in the world, as each booth is full of surprises. The staff at Reynaulds were super helpful in finding accommodation with hotels, food, and plane tickets, they also are super helpful with navigating through the railway networks and visiting local sites. In our case we were also able to visit the Bochum Dahlhausen Railway Museum and witness special demonstrations from the top manufacturers in Germany. Highly recommend the trip, I suggest you bring some extra luggage.
I will gladly participate in a future such tour
I am fortunate that I was hosted by Rey and Roman and their wonderful team in April at the Dortmund Trade Show. I felt more like a close friend than a client. Christiano and Joel included me at the Show itself and also on last day at relatively new private “real” train museum close by in Bochum. One terrific benefit was the ability in real time to ask unusual yet important technical questions about my still in process Fleischmann HO layout. I will gladly participate in a future such tour.
